Privacy policy
Updated 2026-11-02
Migraine Mode changes how web pages look on your own device. It does not read, collect or send the content of the pages you visit or your browsing history. We do not sell your data, share it for advertising, or use it for anything other than running the extension and your subscription.
Who is responsible
Migraine Mode is run by Rodrigo Alonso (Spain). Contact: rodrigo.alonso.rodra@gmail.com.
What stays on your device
- Your settings: on/off, slider values, saved presets, schedules and your site list (the domain names you add yourself). They are stored with Chrome's extension storage. If Chrome sync is turned on, Chrome syncs these settings through your Google account; we never receive them.
- Your licence key and trial status, stored locally in the browser.
- The address of the current tab is read on your device only to apply your per-site rules and to show the current site in the side panel. It is never sent to us or anyone else.
What the extension sends to getmigrainemode.com
- A random installation ID created when you install the extension. It is not linked to your name or Google account. It is used to start and enforce the one-hour free trial and to link a purchase to this browser.
- Your licence key, if you have one, to check that the subscription is active and to limit it to 3 browsers.
- When you subscribe from the extension: the installation ID and the extension language, added to the Stripe Checkout session.
Like any web request, our server sees your IP address. We do not store it. We keep only a salted hash of it for 30 days, so that the free trial cannot be restarted by reinstalling.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects your email address, payment details and billing country under its own privacy policy. We receive and store only your Stripe customer ID, the subscription status and renewal date, your licence key and the installation ID used at checkout. We never see your full card number.
The website
getmigrainemode.com sets one functional cookie, mm_lang (1 year), to remember your language. It uses no advertising or tracking cookies. The site and its API are hosted by Cloudflare, which processes request data to deliver and protect the service.
Processors and transfers
Cloudflare (hosting, API and storage) and Stripe (payments). They may process data outside the European Economic Area under their own safeguards, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Legal basis and retention
We process this data to provide the service you request (contract) and, for the hashed IP address, our legitimate interest in preventing misuse of the free trial. The hashed IP address is deleted after 30 days. A browser that has not used a licence key for 30 days is released from it. Billing records are kept while your subscription exists and as long as tax law requires. Other records are deleted on request.
Your rights
You can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your data, or object to its processing, by writing to rodrigo.alonso.rodra@gmail.com. If it is about a subscription, include your licence key. You can also complain to the Spanish data protection authority (AEPD, aepd.es) or the authority where you live.
Chrome Web Store
The use of information received from Chrome extension APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Migraine Mode does not run code loaded from a server.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its date.
